Seit Anfang 2008 zeigt sich, dass die Malware-Industrie dazu übergegangen ist, gezielt Schwächen in Web-Applikationen auszunutzen um populäre Webseiten zu Malware-Verteilern zu machen, mit dem Ziel eine große Masse an Clients zu infizieren. Dabei wird den Systemen meist per SQL-Injektionen Schadcode untergeschoben, den diese dann an verwundbare Clients ausliefern.
Im Zuge dieser Professionalisierung von Angriffen auf Web-Applikationen stellt sich die Frage wie und in wie weit LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) Anwendungen, im speziellen das Gespann MySQL und PHP Applikationen, gegen diese Angriffe abgehärtet werden können und wie bereits das Design einer Applikation diese Angriffe abwehren, erkennen oder blocken kann.
In dieser Präsentation wird vorgeführt:
- wie bisherige Malware-Angriffe abgelaufen sind
- wie MySQL und PHP mit Bordmitteln oder Erweiterungen für den Einsatz abgehärtet werden können
- welche Möglichkeiten das Gespann bietet um SQL-Injektionen zu verhindern
- wieso und wann Multibyte-Zeichensätze ein Problem sein können
- warum fehlende Fehlerbehandlung zu Sicherheitsproblemen führen kann
- wie Angriffe erkannt, geloggt und geblockt werden können
